Botanical Garden of Porto, Portugal

In one right botanical garden should have: a lot of different plants, lot of live water, some dead trees, ruins, secret places and mystery.
Porto Botanical Garden in Portugal has it all.

This is undoubtedly the best botanical garden I have ever seen - three different planes, highly skilfully planned, well-groomed, but somehow cozy - is a very special place to visit.

Come along with me and watch my short video about that garden:

Botanical Garden of University of Tartu, Estonia

University of Tartu Botanical Garden in Estonia (http://www.botaanikaaed.ut.ee/en/content/garden) is definitely worth to visit (established 1803).
Although it is located in the small area (only 3,5 ha), it is anyway very interesting and there are lot of exciting plants.

The garden is suitable for all - for people who want to look just pretty plants and also for specialists.

So - if you will come in to Estonia in some beautiful day, I suggest you to visit that garden too.

Please feel free to watch my short video about that garden - outside and inside part.

Arboretum Kórnik (Poland)

Arboretum Kórnik is interesting one - it´s the oldest and biggest in the Poland and it´s quite big (40 hectars) - there is plenty to see.
You can find there over 3300 taxons and it´s history begins in the start of 19th sentury - so there are some trees about 200 years old.

Visiting Japanese Garden in Wroclaw, Poland

Definitely one of the best Japanese style garden I have seen in Europe.
Lot of species, well arranged with big Nishikigoi (Koi) fish.

If you are visiting Wroclaw it is surely worth of visit (Location: Adama Mickiewicza,
51-618 Wrocław).

Lilac´s varieties in Dobele Garden, Latvia

At the end of May 2014, Urbandendro had a great opportunity to visit the Dobele (Latvia) Lilac Festival (http://www.dobeledara.lv/petera-upisa-darzs/) - a selection of Latvian lilac´s varieties (over 200 varieties displayed in the garden) is really good.

The best time to visit is at the end of May or at the beginning of June when most of the varieties are blooming.

Here some pictures - the name of the variety is under the picture.
