If plants are damaged they can "cry for help" thru the chemical phone of the root system.
When they are under attack of some pathogen, like some bacteria, plants can send an chemical SOS signal from leafs to the roots. When roots get the SOS signal they will start to produce an special acid which brings to the stage a good bacteria protecting to plant.
It shows us that plants are more organized then we thought earlier - they have abilities which are maybe new for us.
Also it shows that plants can seek for external help.
